Almeda Jo Blake's Obituary
Funeral services for Almeda Jo Blake, 78, of Longview will be 10 AM Wednesday in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Reverend David English officiating, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home, Longview. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 6 to 8 PM. Mrs. Blake pased away Easter Sunday April 4, 2010 at Margaret's House Hospice in Longview.
Mrs. Blake was born August 3, 1931 in Sherman, Texas to the late Ray and Myra Blagg Feltz. She married her high school sweetheart, Roy Blake on February 25, 1950 and they shared there love and their love of music, for 50 years. Meda was a secretary at Trailmobile for a seventeen years then retired as a clerk in the Gregg County District Clerk's office. Meda was a member of the First Baptist Church, Longview and the Gleaner's Sunday School Class, where she served as her department's pianist for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy Blake, a brother Herman Ray Feltz and a grandson Robert Ryan Blake.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son: Steve Blake and wife Rosewitta of San Antonio, daughter: Judy O'Connor and husband Arthur of Gladewater, grandchildren: Jonathan Blake and wife Kari, Hayley Blake, Holly Odeh and husband Edward, Patrick O'Connor and Anna Rickman and husband Kevin, great grandchildren: Kaitlyn Blake and Natalie and Tanner Rickman, brother: Donald Feltz and wife Karola of College Station.
