Alma Wood's Obituary
Graveside services for Alma Wood will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at White Cemetery, 313 E. Brentwood in Longview with Pastor Tommy Howard officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at the funeral home. Mrs. Wood passed away April 16, with her husband by her side.
Mrs. Wood was born April 23, 1935, to parents Beauford and Beaulah Gardner, in Risen, Arkansas. She worked at Arlene Theatre and Kress Five & Dime in downtown Longview in 1957.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Beauford and Beaulah Gardner; brothers, Bradford, Russel, Odell and Billy Joe; sisters, Aillene and Katherine; and 1 great granddaughter, Christiauna.
Mrs. Wood is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Jerry L Wood of Longview; children, Teresa Perkins, Gene Wood, Paula Wood-Rose and Jay Wood all of Longview; and 1 son-in-law, Randy Rose. She had 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
