Your dad and I were very close in our youth. We started 1st grade together and continued to attend the same school until graduation. I have had a flood of memories of our youth since I heard of his passing. All were good memories that made me smile and cry. The last we spoke all he talked about were the three of you and his grandchildren. You all were truly the light of his life. He will live in our hearts and memories as a sweet loving and generous man

I met Ray when his family moved to Abbeville and settled in the only 2story house on St. Mary St., just down the street from the Fontana home. We instantly connected and became childhood best of friends. Our friendship continued through high school as we shared Co-Captain honors on our championship football team. Over the years we would only occasionally touch base and catch-up. Several years ago he came to visit us in League City, TX and I took him with our family to a Kathy Troccoli concert at our Catholic Church in Nassau Bay, TX. I visited him in Austin and tried to connect in Colorado. The last time we saw one another was at our 45th high school reunion in 2019. Facebook enabled us to stay connect but I certainly missed our one on one visits. Always gracious and hospitable he remained one of my oldest friends. God bless his family and may he Rest In Peace.
