Alice Teresa DuBose's Obituary
Alice Teresa Bourgeois DuBose went to be with Our Lord on August 24, 2013 after a brief stay at home with HeartsWay Hospice assisting her family members. Alice was born March 25, 1926 in Waltham, Massachusetts to Dora Jailette and James Henry Bourgeois. Alice was a beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother.
She met her husband, Amos Allen DuBose, in Massachusetts. They married in New Hampshire in 1952 and took up residence in Waltham Massachusetts. In November of 1963 she and her husband moved to Longview, Texas with their son James Burton and daughter Dora Irene.
After arriving in Longview she worked at Good Shepherd Hospital as a Nurse's Aide until she retired after 30 years of service in 1996.
She has been a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church since 1963.
Survivors include her Daughter, Dora Butts of Hallsville; son and daughter-in-law James and Carol DuBose of Daingerfield: twin brother and sister-in-law Arthur and Rita Bourgeois of Canada; brother and sister-in-law Frank and Jeanette Bourgeois of Massachusetts; brother Elie Bourgeois of Canada; brother Claude Bourgeois of Canada; brother Philippe Bourgeois of Canada; brother Telex Bourgeois of Canada; brother Phil Bourgeois of Massachusetts; sister and brother-in-law Louise and Bob Richard of Canada; sister and brother-in-law Annie and Eric Gallant of Canada; sister Jackie Belleveau of Canada; granddaughter Chelsy and husband Chase Doss, granddaughter Jamie and husband Seth Kirby, granddaughter Samantha and husband David Carderara; grandson Steven and wife Kat DuBose; twelve great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father James Bourgeois of Canada; her mother's Dora and Laura Bourgeois of Canada; brothers Robert and Oscar Bourgeois of Canada; sisters Irene Louch of Michigan; Geneva Bourgeois of Canada; Georgette Rachette of Canada; grandson Lowell Gene DuBose of Mesa, Arizona and great granddaughter Makayla Jade Carderara of Longview.
Pallbearers will be James DuBose, Steven DuBose, David Carderara, Chase Doss, Tony Carderara and Kevin Verney.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 27 at Rader Funeral Home on Judson Road in Longview. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 28 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church on Sixth Street in Longview with a Rosary being said prior to service. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens on Harrison Road in Longview, Texas.
Family requests that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in her name.
