Alice Marion Ruegg's Obituary
A celebration of life for Alice Hackney Ruegg, 63, of Longview will be held at St. Michael's and All Angels Episcopal church on Reel Road on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 4pm. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Parish Hall. Mrs. Ruegg passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012 in Longview.
Mrs. Ruegg was born in Marshall, Texas to Vivian Howard and Mary Frances Hackney on October 18, 1948. Music flowed through the heart of Mrs. Ruegg and she shared a joyful noise through her voice and playing of instruments. She also loved gardening, beekeeping, scrapbooking, knitting, and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Samuel Eugene Ruegg, Jr., four sons and daughters-in-law: Howard Key and Becky Burton of Texarkana, TX, Samuel Texas and Penni Ruegg of Sherman, TX, William Robert and Pathra Ruegg of Longview, TX, Thomas Andrew Gallagher and Heather Ruegg of Shreveport, LA, daughter and son-in-law Alice Kate and Zachary Marshall of Longview, TX, eight grandchildren, sister Mary Ann Rountree of North Carolina, brother and sister-in-law Howard Rains and Cynthia Hackney of Dallas, TX, and her beloved Dachshund Hannah-Bo.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
