Funeral services for Alice Louise Sutton, 73, of Longview will be held at 2 pm Thursday, July 1, 2004 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. She passed away Sunday in a Longview nursing facility.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sutton was born on September 10, 1930, in Marshall, Texas to Christian and Kathryn Stuebben. She was a resident of Longview for the past 40 years, moving from Tyler. She was a past president of the Women?s League of Voters, and a past president of the Pine Tree PTA. Mrs. Sutton was an active member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church, and was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters, Court St. Bridget. #2269. She was a Eucharistic Minister, and a member of the Adult Choir. She was also president of the Dallas Diocesan Council of Women, and from 1987 to 1989, she was the First President of the Tyler Diocesan Council of Women.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband George W. Sutton.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, George H. and Shannon Sutton of Longview, Stanley M. and Kathy Sutton of Houston, and Laura and Russell Gabriel of Hawaii; grandchildren, Christopher, Nathan, and Katie Sutton, Tony Lummus, Chuck Foster, and Jacob and Matt Wintters; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Anna Nissan of Austin; and brother, Chris Stuebben of Columbia, MO.
