Graveside services for Alice Elizabeth Wood, 79, of Lake O? the Pines, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2007 at Oakwood Cemetery in Jefferson with Jerry Arrant and Jim Kuykendall officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. She passed away Friday, June 1 in Mineola.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wood was born September 2, 1927 in Marshall and had been a longtime resident of Lake O? the Pines. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Rebecca Lodge. She was also a former member of the Mims Volunteer Fire Department. Mrs. Wood was a Baptist and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Wood, Sr.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Roy L. Wood, Jr. of Hurndon, VA and Wesley L. Decco, Sr. of Longview; daughters, Martha Buffington of Red Oak, TX and J. J. Kuykendall of Conroe, TX; sisters, Pauline Newman of Harleton, TX and Bonnie Bailey of Dallas; brothers, Johnny Stokes of Richardson and Jerry Arrant of Carrollton, TX; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bluebonnet Hospice, 204 N. Main, Quitman, TX 75783.
