Mr. Weyrich was born September 4, 1911 in Greenville. He moved to Longview with his family in 1927. That move brought the family business, Weyrich?s Bakery, to town where he came to know many residents as he delivered the bread. Mr. Weyrich graduated from Longview High School in 1929 and , aside from service in the U. S. Army during WWII, ran the bakery until it closed in 1960. He taught 7th grade Sunday School at First United Methodist Church for nearly two decades, and was active in the Pioneers service organization bringing good will to older folks for nearly three decades.
Mr. Weyrich was preceded in death by his wife, Ila Weyrich. They had no children, but lovingly and significantly shaped the lives of four
nephews and their families , to include, Don and Sherry Linnen of Dallas, Bill and Nancy Price of Bryan, James and Grace Newsom of Pearland, and Steve and Mona Mueller of Amarillo..
The Weyrichs were ''adopted'' by several families as surrogate grandparents and adored by many.
Those desiring to do so may make memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church, 400 N. Fredonia St., Longview, TX 75601.
