Albert Henry Thomas, Sr.'s Obituary
Funeral services for Albert Henry Thomas, Sr., 75 of New Diana, will be 10 am Monday, June 6, 2011, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Also at Rader, the family will receive friends from 2-4 pm Sunday, June 5, 2011. Albert was born in Clovis NM, Nov. 11, 1935. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in Viet Nam. Albert loved to hunt and fish. He also made knives, created jewelry, and was a master at flint napping arrowheads. He was a devoted husband of 46 years, a loving father, and was better known to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as simply Pawpaw. He was a gentlemen's gentleman, where a man's word revealed his character. Albert is survived by his wife, Lorenda Mariene Thomas of New Diana; two sons, Albert H. Thomas, Jr. of New Diana, and Martin B. Thomas of Longview; two daughters, Debra Nelko of Alabama, and Deniece Barker of Longview; eight grandchildren, Josh Thomas, Casy Thomas, Amy Richardson, Cliffton Evans, Brent Evans, Nicholas Nelko, Travis Nelko, and Tori Nelko; and four great-grandchildren.
