A celebration of the life of Alayna Rose Brown, age 19, will be held at Rader Funeral Home at 4 pm, Thursday May 5, 2005. Alayna died Sunday May 1, at MD Anderson in Houston following a courageous battle with Leukemia. Alayna was born March 24, 1986, in Longview, to parents William Lynn Brown and Frances Elaine Freeman. She attended Spring Hill High School from 2000-2004 where she received numerous awards both musically and academically. Alayna was a Texas Scholar and a multiple UIL award recipient in band. Alayna was a lover of music of all kinds and a very talented musician. She played most instruments by ear without any professional training. Alayna never knew a stranger and made friends with everyone she met. Her circle of friends was very broad and ranged from Longview to California. Her sweet spirit left a smile on everyone's face. Alayna was very full of life and had a strong and determined nature. She was a sweet friend, and loving sister, and an honorable daughter. Alayna will be missed very much by all who's life she touched. Her life and the love she gave is a true testimony of God's love for all. May she live on in the hearts of all who experienced her gentleness, kindness, and love. Alayna is survived by her father, Lynn Brown; mother, Elaine Freeman; step-father, Keith Freeman; sister and brother-in-law, April and Matthew Landes; brother Shelby Brown; sister and brother-in-law, Haley and John Stanford; sister, Lindsay Brown; niece, Rian Stanford; grandfather, Vernon Brown; grandparents, Edna and Dave Campbell; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the physicians, nurses, and support groups at MD Anderson. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday May 4th from 6-8 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
