A. W. Conway, Jr.'s Obituary
Funeral services for A. W. Conway, Jr., 88, of Laneville, will be held at 10:30 Friday, April 21, 2006, at Rader Funeral Home, 800 Kilgore Drive, Henderson, TX, with Reverend LeRoy Pierson, Reverend Robert Loftis and Reverend George Conway officiating. Burial will be in Strong Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home, Henderson.
Mr. Conway died April 19, 2006 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born April 10, 1918 in Pine Hill, Texas to Bina and A. W. Conway, Sr., who predeceased him. He was also predeceased by his wife of sixty years, Annie P. Conway, by his brother, Joe Conway of Henderson, Texas and sister, Mozelle Hutto of Engleside, Texas.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday, April 20th at the funeral home.
Mr. Conway was a member of Glen Rose Baptist Church. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II in France. He was a retired builder and cattleman, and a member of the East Texas Red Brangus Association where he had served as a past-president as well as in other capacities of that organization.
Survivors include his children, Wanda Dailey of Dayton, Texas, Martha Sue James and husband, Grundy of Boyce, Louisiana, Andy Conway and wife, Joyce of Vidor, Texas; five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren; sisters, Margie Burrow of Hope, AR, and Elaine Johnson and husband, Wayne of Hope, AR; brothers, Jim Conway of Henderson, Charles Conway and wife, Nelda, of Gurden, AR, Bill Conway and wife, Lavenia of Magnolia, TX; numerous nieces and nephews. He was blessed to have wonderful friends, as well as special caregivers, Darlene and Joseph Taylor, Robert and Pam Loftis, the personnel of LifeCare Hospice, and Sugar, among many others.
