A. C. Buchanan Jr.'s Obituary
Services for A.C. Buchanan, Jr., 90, of Longview will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2017 in the Rosewood Park Mausoleum Chapel with the Reverend Gregg Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service in the Mausoleum.
Mr. Buchanan went to be with Jesus on September 30, 2017. He was born in Big Sandy, TX on December 9, 1926. He was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church, where he played in the orchestra for several years and earlier had taught kids at Macedonia Baptist Church. Aubrey served during WWII in the U. S. Navy. He graduated college from SMU. He was retired from Union Pacific Railroad. Up until August, he still enjoyed driving his convertible. He loved to fish and enjoyed watching most any sports.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Thelma; his parents, A.C. and Lillian; brother Jack; and grandson-in-law, Josh Bryan.
He is survived by his son, Buck and wife Melanie; grandson Cam and wife Carla; granddaughter Misti and fiancé Justin; great grandchildren, Alex, Sam, Ela, Aiden and his mother Katrina, Cynthia, and Priscilla. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Rosco Northcutt; nephews, Mike Northcutt and wife Carolyn and John Northcutt. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Highway 80 Rescue Mission, 3117 West Marshall Avenue, Longview, TX 75604.
He will be remembered as a kind, loving, and generous man with a good sense of humor.
