She was also my very first Pastor's wife. What an example!!! Should be a shock to everyone when I say I was no angel...
I remember she use to always tell me:
"You know, the Pastor would want you to help me, go a long way in case you get in trouble". Boy was she right! When you see how amazing, annoited, and powerful Bishop Spears is in God, it's not hard to know why. What a help for him and our church. What a prayer warrior. Despite the ups and downs...I always saw her with a smile. If you want to see how she impacted people's life... just look at me!!!
Oh, and Sis Spears said I really looked awesome and sweet wearing the wings!!!
Love you guys and I am praying for you!!!

My memories of Sis Edith Spears go back to around 1965 when they came to Gladewater Texas for revival services at my home church. From then until the present, I have treasured the friendship of both Rev Spears and his wife. I will remember her with great fondness and treasure the times we shared.

To know her was to love her!
Sister Spears was my very first, First Lady. As a child she was an amazing lady of God who showed me much love. Pastor and sister Spears, as well as their children, counseled me, mentored me, and let me fill their love for me. As an adult sister Spears was a shining example of what a Christian lady should look like. I know she is rejoicing in heaven right now and I am determined to continue being a shining example of her legacy for God.
I will NEVER forget the love you showed to a baby girl when you didn't have too. ❤️
I will forever cherish our hug the last time you were in church. You told me how much you loved me. I'll carry that with me for a life time.I know you are totally healed and no longer fighting. I know our flesh is selfish because we don't want to let go. But, heaven is growing sweeter. Thank you for all you have done, the example you was, the love you gave. Tell my Pops I said hi! Rest Easy Angel! 🫶❤️
Love always Katt
I never think of Edith Rose without remembering the rest of the family. We had a cafe in Singer and Edith and Marcy came frequently to hang out. The girls always told us when Sister Gillis was making cinnamon rolls, so when she stuck her head out the back door and yelled, “Doooooooogieeeeeeee” (Edith’s nickname), we all went running! Such sweet times. I’m sorry for the family’s loss.—-Sharon Harris
Edith was a dear friend when we both were younger. I spent a lot of time with her when she lived in (I believe) Leesville, La. her husband was from my home church when I was a teen, He was from Kountze, Tx. I used to take trips with A. D. and Edith, with A.D. driving my car. Lost touch over the years but looked her up just recently and found she lived around Longview. My hope wass to meet up again, but, of course, time flies and people age and die. See you on the other side Edith! Love you. Margo (Margaret Dillon) Luhrs.
