My mother, Louise Snead, was always so impressed that David stopped by the Saltville, Virginia hospital to see her new baby--me--just days before David left for U.S. Air Force service in Korea. He was a kind, caring, generous man, and I have always been so proud to call him my cousin. I still remember their 1957 (?) Chevy--red, white, and beautiful. We especially loved going to "Mama Snead's" house when Billie, David, Lori and Lisa were visiting. Precious family memories there, and also when we visited with Billie & David in Texas several years ago! We hurt for ourselves in David's home-going, but we rejoice that he is with the Lord and his precious wife, Billie, who was the apple of Lloyd Snead's (my Dad's) eye!

\The stories I could tell about when he was dating Billie. I tried every think I knew trying to run him off. I actually liked him then and was happy when he married Billie. I wanted to go on the honeymoon with them saying all they were going to do was go to a drive-in. Guess I wasn't very bright back then. Later I felt he was like a brother.

Lori & Lisa and family, So very saddened by the news of Uncle David. He was an outstanding man and was loved by all who knew him. We weren't able to see much of him but when we did, we always had such wonderful times. He was a gentle giant. I know he was loved by our Daddy, Frank and I know they are rejoicing in Heaven at their reunion. May God give you all peace at this time knowing that this is not the end, it's only the beginning.
