Thanks to Mrs. Caroline Hermes and St. Matthew’s apostolate of visiting the sick and shut-in, I had the great privilege to bring Holy Communion, the Real Presence of our Lord Jesus Chrit, to Mr. and Mrs. Opiela. I am very thankful for the opportunity of meeting them and praying with them. We entrust Bernice’s soul to the hands of the Lord Jesus Christ, our merciful Redeemer, and to the intercession of His Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary.

To the Opelia family, Don and I send our sincere sympathy. We will always remember Aunt Bernice's gentle and mild-mannered presences. Although, I remember her ruling four little ones with a firm hand when it was needed. I also remember babysitting for her and thinking "boy am I earning my money tonight." It was always evident that she loved her family deeply and was proud of each and everyone of you. Please know that Don and I share in your loss but wish you comfort and peace of mind knowing that she is beginning a new journey and we are only saying good-bye for a little while.
