Gwen Allbright died peacefully at her home on Monday, September 27th. She was born March 18, 1931 in Electra, Texas, the only child of C.P. and Brunetta Sanderlin. Gwen attended public schools in Longview and then received a Bache Read Obituary

I remember Mrs. Gwen being principal at the 4th grade when I was subbing there. I was fortunate to know her more when I joined the church. I was so sorry to read of Mrs. Allbrights passing. She was a great lady and a super principal. She will be remembered for all the good she did for every child that passed through her school days, both as a teacher and a principal. I enjoyed knowing her in the days I worked at Hallsville school as well as the time my girls were in school. I am very sad to learn of the death of Mrs. A. She was a very special lady. I had the pleasure of working on her Hallsville Intermediate School Campus for seven years. I didn't know Mrs. Allbright very well, but I did know of her heart and service for her church and the preschool there where she was on the board of directors. I have taught at First Friends Preschool for the last 3 years and Mrs. Allbright has always been a support and encouragement to all of us. I was so sorry to hear of Gwen's recent illness and death. Take solace in your wonderful memories. She was a great mother, daughter,wife and teacher and so many were influenced by her caring ways.
