(For the kid’s legacy book)
Conner and about 40 other Aggies came to our house once a week during their college days for a hot, home cooked meal. Conner is our first "college family" loss. It has taken his loss for us to realize how much we were blessed during the time of "Lombardi Dinner Club". We've heard over the years how much the dinners meant to the kids, but have now realized just how much the kids meant to us.
Conner loved spaghetti and COLD milk, real cold milk!! As soon as that first glass was gone, he'd get up and say, "Can I have another glass of milk?" And every week we'd say, "Conner you can have all the cold milk you want." He was an inspiration to our high school son, who looked forward to Dinner Club every week just because Conner was going to be there. As soon as our son walked in the door from school he would ask, "Is Conner coming to dinner tonight?"
Conner loved his hats, but when he sat down at the dinner table, that hat came off his head. And it was always, "Mr. & Mrs.", "please", "thank you", "yes mam", "yes sir", but most importantly, we always knew his heart's desire was to be right with the Lord. Conner’s legacy shows by his choices and being driven by what is pleasing to the Lord, he has left a legacy that the Lord is pleased with. I’m sure the Lord said, “Well done good and faithful servant” when He opened His arms for Conner.
During every season of your life, always remember the Lord's words in Jeremiah 29, verses 11-13, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." This is how your Daddy lived.
