Just heard of Charlie's passing yesterday. We were flight surgeons together in '58-'60 at Robins AFB, GA. We had many good times there together with Charlie, Mary Gay and Jeff at the end. Missy and Elizabeth came along later but did get to meet and visit with them until later on in Longview. My condolences to all of the kids and grand-kids. You will miss him and I just hate that we did not get to visit in these later years.

Dr. Gay was our family doctor for many years. He was a close friend to my family, especially to my dad. Charlie did a lot of good for a lot of people, and he will be greatly missed. What a great man.
Dr Gay was our neighbor and friend. He was a man of few words, but he spoke with wisdom.

Although Charlie wasn't blood related, he was a wonderful mentor and grandfather to me, my sisters, and cousins. I wish I could be there to support my family and pay my respects. I'll always love and miss you Charlie.
Dr. Gay was my family's doctor for many many years. I loved him very much. He was a kind and gentle man. He was always soft spoken but very much to the point. He cared for my family through many illnesses and crisis. Thanks to his family for sharing him with us for so many years. God bless and keep your family and give you God's peace during this time.

So sorry for your loss. Charlie and Carolyn were close family friends and were there for us when my grandmother Regina Shirley passed years ago from cancer. Charlie was the most gentle and kind person and will always be remembered. He and Carolyn sat with the family when Ashley and I were married and were considered part of our family. He will be missed greatly and will always be in our memories.
