    Wilmetta Irene Hoffer

    September 10, 1921 - September 3, 2021

Wilmetta Irene Hoffer, age 99, passed away on September 3, 2021 at The Willows, a senior independent living community in Bremerton, Washington. Irene was born September 10, 1921 in Galena, Kansas, the second of three daughters of Charles and Agnes Berry. She loved to sing and played the piano, too, as well as performed regularly with two young friends in a woman's trio at church. Irene married Morris Robert Hoffer on May 28, 1945 in Columbus, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 2012 at the Washington Veterans Home in Port Orchard, Washington. Irene and Bob lived over forty years in Texas and before that in Joplin, Missouri. She was a member of the Oakland Heights Baptist church in Longview, Texas, and active in the church choir. Irene and Bob moved to Washington state in 2001 to be close to their children. In Bremerton, she was a member of Sylvan Way Baptist Church and a longtime member of the Sunshine Singers, a senior singing group. Irene is survived and missed by her many friends at her church and The Willows community and by her son and daughter, Bill Hoffer of Las Vegas and Patricia Hoffer of Seattle. A graveside service for Bob and Irene will be at Rosewood Park Cemetery on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 2:00 PM.
