    Wendell Ray Boyd

    August 23, 1934 - July 26, 2012

    Wendell Ray Scooter Boyd, loving husband and father, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 26, 2012. He was born August 23, 1934 in Lamesa, Texas. Scooter was a lifelong resident of the Longview area and worked at Texas Eastman and Arco Oil and Gas. For numerous years he was involved in Little League Baseball as a coach. He was preceded in death by his father, T.H. Boyd, mother, Annie Mae Boyd, father-in-law, Milton Brown, brother-in-law N.L. Brown and sister-in-law Ginger Milam Brown. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ginger Boyd, son Ray Boyd, daughter Renee Boyd Stallings, grandchildren Whitney Boyd Reardon and husband Texas, Trey Boyd, Joe Stallings, Shonda Barton, and numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Tom Boyd and wife Carol, sister LaJean Perez, mother-in-law Gladys Brown, brother-in-law Chuck Brown and wife Mona, sister-in-law Debbie Williamson and husband Johnny, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday, July 30, 2012 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Reverend Ronnie Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. The family fill receive friends Sunday afternoon from 4-6 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO BOX 906 Longview, TX 75601.
