    Robert Randall Mobbs

    September 13, 1950 - May 23, 2021

Robert Randall Mobbs, 70, of Longview passed away peacefully Sunday, May 23rd surrounded by family and friends. Randy was born on September 13, 1950 to Rayford and Norma “Ruth” Mobbs. He grew up in Longview and graduated from Longview High School in 1969. Randy worked as a carpenter for many years. In 1983, Randy was reunited with a classmate and thus began a 37 year love story. Nila was the love of his life and the two of them demonstrated what it means to have unconditional love for each other. He loved his role as stepfather to Nila’s children, Alicia and Jeff and enjoyed being Papaw to his four grandchildren. Randy had a love for movies, television, and music. He could tell you the backstory of just about every TV show, movie, or actor. He loved Elvis and his Elvis collection. Anyone who visited got a tour of the Elvis room. He was always humming or singing a tune. Randy never met a dog he didn’t love or that didn’t love him or a stranger. He was a friend to many and enjoyed a good game of dominoes on Saturday nights. He will be remembered for his good humor and genuine friendship. Randy is preceded in death by his wife, Nila Louise Mobbs, parents Rayford and Ruth Mobbs and two brothers. Randy is survived by his stepdaughter Alicia and Ralph Gladden of Arlington, Tx and stepson Jeff and Brigette Antwiler of Madisonville. LA and grandchildren Kyle and Amanda Gladden, Bryce, Layne , and Addison.
