    September 14, 1942 - March 15, 2022

Raymond Floyd, 79, of Ore City, went to his heavenly home on March 15, 2022. He was born in Urania, Louisiana to Doris Raymond and Annalyn Morris Floyd on September 14, 1942. Raymond was raised in Haynesville, Louisiana and was a 1960 graduate of Haynesville High School. He went on to attend college at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Arkansas. In 1966, Raymond moved to Longview, Texas to start his family and career at Texas Eastman. Raymond was a proud father of three and was very active in his children’s church and school activities. He married Barbara Owen Floyd on September 12, 1992 gaining another daughter, Lynn Buffington, who he loved liked his own. He retired from Texas Eastman after 36 years and continued to enjoy his “Eastman family” by attending monthly retiree breakfasts. He loved traveling, reading, meeting new people, and fishing. “Everybody loved Raymond”. Raymond is survived by his wife of 29 years, Barbara Owen Floyd “I was so blessed to have you to love. You were a good man with a good heart and you made me feel so proud and happy to be the one who I got to share my life with.”, son Heath and wife Tami Floyd of Longview, daughter Stephanie and husband Nick Bennett of Wichita Falls, daughter Kristi and husband Gene Waggoner of Nacogdoches and step-daughter Lynn and Wade Buffinton of Pensacola, FL. Raymond was very proud of his grandchildren: Rebecka Floyd Jenkins of Longview, Bailee Floyd and fiancé Maison Holes of Amarillo, Jenifer Floyd of Nacogdoches, Lanie Bennett of Ft. Worth, Regan Bennett of Austin, Rilee Bennett of Lubbock, Tessa and husband Keith Fielding of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Tiffany and husband Francisco Penaloza of Rancho Cucamonga, California and Michael Buffington. He also considered himself blessed to be able to enjoy 8 great grandchildren: Tanner and Jerrilyn Jenkins of Longview, Shayde Buffington, Skye Fielding, Ashton Fielding, Isabel Penaloza, Chloe Buffington & Tobias Penaloza. He will also be greatly missed by his two favorite “granddogs” Lily and Sissy Waggoner of Nacogdoches. Raymond will also be missed by his two sisters who adored him, Glynda Floyd Walker of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Sue Floyd Davenport of Longview, as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Visitation and memorial service will be held at Radar Funeral home on March 19, 2022 with Pastor Greg Zachary officiating. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
