Martha Ann McDonald Bonham went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 28, 2021. Ann was born on July 21, 1934, in Dallas, Texas to Kenneth George McDonald and Ettie Sue Coker McDonald. After her childhood years in Dallas, the family relocated to Longview in 1947. She was a 1951 graduate of Longview High School. On September 21, 1957, Ann married the love of her life, Charles Grayson Bonham, and they shared 37 happy years together. Ann was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to cook and bake and shared her baked goods with family, friends, church, and the local Fire Department. Ann was a wonderful seamstress and made all of her daughters’ clothes and even their doll clothes. She also loved to knit and shared her afghans and washcloths with family and friends. Ann loved animals and spoiled all her dogs and granddogs. Ann was a member of First United Methodist Church and was in the Henry Foster Sunday Class where she served as secretary for over 50 years. She volunteered her time with the PTA, various church committees and other civic organizations. Her favorite activity was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Ann and Charles loved traveling to Arkansas in the Fall and spending time at the lake. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bonham, her parents, and brother-in-law Milledge Bonham. Ann is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Darrell Fisher of Fairview, TN and daughter and son-in-law Linda and Layne Wickersham of Allen, TX. Also left to cherish the memories of her laugh and wit are her grandchildren Jordan and Savannah Fisher of Spring Hill, TN and Abbey Wickersham of Allen, TX; sister Ginger Megason of Longview; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Madge and George Raney of Longview, and sister-in-law Betty Bonham of Tulsa, OK as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. The family will receive visitors Friday, Nov. 5 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Chapel at Rader Funeral Home. Services and burial will be Saturday, Nov. 6 at 2:00 pm at the Mausoleum at Rosewood Park Cemetery. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Buckner Westminster Place and HeartsWay Hospice for their loving kindness and compassionate care for our mother over the past 2 years. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Asbury House, 320 S. Center St., Longview, TX 75601 or Hiway 80 Rescue Mission, PO Box 3223, Longview, TX 75606.
