M. Jayne Hollingsworth Thomas Estes born June 3, 1929, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Clyde and Annie Mae Hollingsworth, Jayne passed away on February 20, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, H.B. “Buck” Estes, Jr., her parents and two brothers, Robert C., and Dan A. Hollingsworth. Jayne is survived by son and wife, Lewis, and Toy Thomas; grandson Alex Thomas; great grandson Ethan Thomas; granddaughter and husband Meredith and Roger Gaston, great granddaughter Evelyn Gaston, and great grandson Benjamin Gaston. Also survived by extended family, stepchildren Dale, husband John Blackmon; Chris, wife Melanie Estes, four step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. Jayne graduated from Kilgore High School at the age of 15 and was selected to be offered a three-month position for outstanding students by a local firm. She then enrolled in the Bish Mathis Institute where she earned certification in Business Management and Secretarial Science. After securing employment she later married, started a family, and relocated to the Gulf Coast. Jayne went to work for a major oil company where she worked for 17 years. During that time, she remarried to Buck Estes, resigned her position and went into partnership with her husband in establishing a retail business: “The Shade Tree and Accessories, Inc.” in Houston, Texas. After successfully opening three locations, they sold the business and retired to Northeast Texas. Jayne was very active in church when her health permitted and served in many different capacities. She treasured her faith and family, and enjoyed the arts, music, reading, traveling and animals-especially the family’s pet Boston Terriers. Jayne will be interred in a private ceremony in Rosewood Park Cemetery, Longview, Texas next to her late husband, Buck Estes. Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 11am.
