    Larry Campbell Carns

    October 7, 1934 - September 14, 2011

    MSG Larry Campbell Carns, U.S. Army Ret Funeral services for MSG Larry Campbell Carns will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 19, 2011 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, Longview. Full military burial honors will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. He passed away Wednesday in a Tyler hospital. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Carns was born October 7, 1934 in Coffeyville, KS to Gail Harty Carns and Mildred Madiline Campbell Carns. He was a 1952 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, TX. Mr. Carns retired from the U. S. Army with 41 years of accumulative service. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and bowling. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gail Harty Carns and Mildred Madiline Wilbanks; brother, James Richard Carns and brother-in-law, Jack Featherston. Those left to cherish his memory are his three children, Steve Carns and wife Vicki, Rhonda Boyd and husband Bruce and Lorijo Carns; grandchildren, Christopher Carns and wife Valarie and Stefanie Cooper and husband Scott; 2 great grandchildren, Dane Odell and Brock Jaxon Cooper; sister, Janet Featherston; brother, Ronald Carns and wife Sharon and many nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children, Mary Louise Sackett and many more extended family.
