September 18, 1932 - January 9, 2022
Longview—A visitation to celebrate our loved one Joe Derrow Taylor will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 10:00 am- 12:00 pm, at Rader Funeral Home on Judson Road in Longview, Texas. Family and Friends are invited to surround him and his family with their love during this time. The family will continue this celebration after the visitation honoring Joe’s final wishes and favorite taco lunch, at the home of his daughter Angel & Robert Cubine. We hope you will join us in celebrating his life and sharing precious memories of him with our family. Joe passed away and entered the beautiful gates of Heaven to join his wife Betty Jo Taylor, and his sons, Ricky & Rex Taylor, on Sunday January 9, 2022 at 4:33pm. Joe was born on September 18,1932, in Alabama, to his loving parents, Charlie & Verna Taylor. He married his wife Betty Jo Taylor of Longview, Texas on November 27, 1954. Joe worked with his wife as a self-employed painting contractor for most of his entire life. He was one of the most hard-working men right up until he passed. He loved sunshine and warm sunny days to work in his garden which he had a passion for. He enjoyed all the years at the race track watching his sons race. He wouldn’t miss a beat to get a chance to go to the casinos. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Nascar races on Sundays, the Dallas Cowboy games, and of course his home state football team Alabama (ROLL TIDE). When it was time for The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, The Waltons, and Shark Tank, you better not interrupt him. He was one spunky, stubborn, determined (tiny bit hardheaded) sweet Angel with a love for all. He is now resting peacefully in Heaven with his beloved wife of almost 60 years. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Charlie & Verna Taylor, his siblings, Crystal Taylor, JB Taylor, Dot Taylor, Helen Payne, Nell Swindall, and Mickey Taylor, his loving wife, Betty Jo Taylor, and his sons, Ricky & Rex Taylor. He is survived by his daughter Angel Cubine and husband Robert Cubine, his granddaughter Kylee Cubine (his Dumplin/Sunshine), his son Kyle Taylor and wife Wanda Taylor, all from Longview, Tx. He is also survived by many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for the loving care and compassion they provided our loved one during this most difficult time. Thank you to these sweet nurses Aleshia Fatherree, Kara Holbert, Cassandra Mandry (Shmucker), and Staci Griffith for having hearts of gold and so much passion for their jobs with hospice and the ability to recognize the emotions experienced by our family and our sweet Papa Joe. They did everything possible to provide him and us with peace and comfort during his final days. They will always hold a special place in our hearts!
