Funeral services for Jo Hollis, 88, of Henderson will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Henderson with Rev Jeff Gage officiating. Burial will follow at Rusk County Memorial Gardens under the direction of Radar Funeral Home of Henderson. Mrs. Hollis passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 in Longview. She was born February 22, 1927 in Groveton, Texas to Edgar and Mary Hamilton. She was a loving, kind daughter, wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by everyone. Mrs. Hollis was very active in the PTA and Girl Scouts in Houston when the children were young. After moving to Henderson in 1968, she became active in the Varied Arts Club, Henderson Women’s Forum, and Little Garden Club. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Henderson. She was active in the Women’s Day Circle and Women’s Night Circle as well as a member of the Church Board. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Dan Hollis, her parents, a sister and two brothers. Survivors include: daughter, Kay Ramsey and husband Jim of Plano, sons, Danny Hollis and wife Sandra of Henderson, Philip Hollis and special friend Penny Reed of Longview, David Hollis and wife Tammy of Mt. Vernon, grandchildren, Chris Ramsey and wife Theresa, Matt Ramsey, Sarah McCready and husband Chad, Justin Hollis and special friend Jackie Drunnitt, Ashley Byrd and husband Chris, Carson Hollis and wife Jennifer, Cortland Esters and husband Tyler, Collin Hollis and special friend Courtney Robertson, Colten Hollis and special friend Lauren Ragsdale, and Amber Reed, nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Chris Ramsey, Matt Ramsey, Justin Hollis, Carson Hollis, Collin Hollis, Colten Hollis, Chad McCready, Chris Byrd and Tyler Esters. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Hollis, Orin Stroud, Troy Morren, Don Gage, Joe Johnson and Larry Johnson. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, PO Box 1226, Henderson, Texas 75653. The family would like to extend a special thank you for the wonderful care provided by the management and staff of Specialty Select Hospital and the caregivers of Treviso Transitional Care in Longview.
