Coach Tommy Miller “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13 Day to day Tommy Miller lived out the words he spoke by not only talking the talk, but walking the walk. He fought the good fight, he kept the faith, he finished the race…he won the battle. A celebration service honoring the life of Tommy Miller will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 15th at Macedonia Baptist Church in Longview, Texas with Bro. Steve Cochran officiating. A time to remember his life with the family will be Monday, January 14th from 6-8 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, Texas. Burial will be at Hallsville Cemetery following the celebration service. Tommy met his Savior face to face on January 12, 2008. There to welcome him into Heaven was his sister, Linda Foster. Tommy was born November 27, 1952 to Jimmy and Bertha Miller of Hope, Arkansas. He was a faithful spouse of 30 years to Debbie Miller, a devoted father to his son, Cory Miller of Dallas and his daughter and son-in-law Courtney and Shane Goswick and a committed coach for 31 years. He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law Kathleen and Buddy Halliburton, brother-in-law Bud Halliburton and wife, Donna of Marshall. Brother-in-law Perry Foster of Hope, Arkansas and numerous nieces and nephews. He served at Longview Independent School District for 18 years and currently at Hallsville Independent School District for 13 years. He coached varsity football and was the head track coach at Hallsville. In these 31 years, a multitude of lives were touched and changed. Coach Miller left a legacy that even though he is gone physically, he will never be forgotten. God’s plan for this simple man has stirred an entire community.
