    James H. Brady

    February 10, 2010 - November 1, 1935

James H. "Jim" Brady James H. "Jim" Brady met his heavenly father on February 10, 2010. He was born November 1, 1935 to the late William 'Bill" and Marie Brady. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, February 13, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at his church home, Longview Metro Church. His celebration will be officiated by Pastors Rob Parsons, Bruce Wyke and Rusty Brady. Jim passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Mr. Brady was proud to serve his country in the Korean War. Upon his return, he met the love of his life, Peggy Jo Nelson and they were married February 8, 1958. He retired after 38 years from Texas Eastman. Jim returned to work a few years later in the oil industry and worked for Spindletop Tubular, Allis Chalmers and finally as the manager of Oilfield Services LLC until his illness progressed. Jim celebrated life everyday. He was an active member of Longview Metro Church where he taught Royal Rangers and served his Lord faithfully. His passion in life was his wife Peggy and their children and grandchildren. He was an avid hunter and spent countless hours teaching his children and grandchildren to love hunting and the outdoors. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Peggy Brady; his children, Rusty and wife Anna Brady of Spring Branch, TX and their children Cheyanne, Tyi and Cole; Cindy and husband James Lowery of Hawkins, TX and their children Jessica, Jamie and Jared; Holly and husband Mark Gipson of Longview, TX and their children Dakota and Brady; Jims brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Emily Brady of New Mexico and their children, Gracie and Bart and their families; brother and sister-in-law, Bo and Glynda Nelson of Longview and their children, Tracy and Tara and families; brother and sister-in-law, Lew and Jonelle Sharp of Brownwood, TX and their children, John and Kevin and families. Jim also left behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends he thought of as family. We would like to thank Texas Oncology, Dr. Koya and his staff and the staff on the fourth floor of Good Shepherd Medical Center.
