    Eva Janice Miller

    November 8, 1942 - March 6, 2022

Eva Janice Pursley Miller—beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend—passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022, in Longview, Texas at the age of 79. Janice was born November 8, 1942, in Tyler, Texas to Wilbert Lee and Mary Naoma Pursley. Janice grew up in Odessa, Texas. Her family moved to Longview in 1959. She graduated from Pine Tree High School in 1961 where she and her twin sister Janet both were cheerleaders. She spent one year at the University of Arkansas and then moved to Dallas where she worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. In December 1966 she married Willie Roy Climer,Jr. and moved to Longview where they had two sons, Eric W. Climer and Michael R. Climer. The family lived in Hawaii for a while when Roy was stationed there in the Navy. Janice loved Hawaii and after returning to Longview to live she always wanted to go back to visit. Roy was killed in a one-vehicle accident in Austin, Texas in 1979. Janice later met and married William (Bill) Miller and became step-mother to Mark Miller and Randall Miller. Janice’s faith was an important part of her life. She participated in a women’s prison ministry. She was musically talented, singing for special occasions and playing the piano, especially for residents at Summer Meadows. Janice is survived by her brother Lee Wain Pursley and wife Linda, son Eric W. Climer, stepsons Mark Miller and wife Karen, and Randall Miller, nephew Stephen Pursley and wife Severine and great-nieces Audrey and Emma Pursley of Fort Collins, CO. Her grandchildren are Colin, Macy, Madison, Micah, Elizabeth Miller and Hannah, Julia, and Matthew Miller, and numerous cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, her twin sister Janet Davis, both her husbands, and her son Michael. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. March 16, 2022, in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel, Longview.
