May 20, 1928 - October 10, 2013
Elizabeth Walpole, 85, was born May 20, 1928 and passed in to glory on October 10, 2013 in Longview, Texas. Visitation will be at Rader Funeral Home in Longview from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2013. Services will be held at the Rosewood Mausoleum at 11 a.m. on Monday October 14, 2013 with Dr. Rick Webb officiating. Entombment will follow at the Mausoleum. She is preceded in death by her husband Cecil Walpole to whom she was married for 54 years. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Frank and Ella Ramsey and had 5 sisters who preceded her in death, Alice Bruner, Betty Willoughby, Norma Barnhart, Eloise King and Aileen Warden. She is survived by one sister, Dorothy McCarty of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and one sister-in-law, Audrey Bradley of Longview. She is also survived by her dearest friend and our “other mother”, Mabel Bradshaw. She lived life to the fullest and was a joy to her family. She reluctantly retired from her sewing business at the age of 82 after 55 years of service. She was known for her humor and sweet and spicy personality, as well as her special dinners of chicken nuggets and chicken and dumplings. She loved her Texas Rangers, Bingo, and was a voracious reader. She was a member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church for 55 years. Left to carry on her legacy are her daughter Anita Cole and son-in-law Mark Cole of Liberty City, son Kevin Walpole and daughter-in-law Sabrina Walpole of Longview, five grandchildren, Aaron and Kristine Cole, Reagan and Stacy Cole, Marqui Walpole, Coty Walpole, and Steeley Walpole and great grandchildren Issac, Wyatt, and Bruce Cole. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. The family would also like to give special thanks to Dr. George Leatherman and his staff as well as all of the wonderful administrators and staff at Buckner Westminister. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Highway 80 Rescue Mission in Longview.
