    Don Massey

    January 19, 1943 - July 18, 2017

Donald Keith Massey, 74, of Longview passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday morning at his Longview home. The family will receive friends Friday, July 21, from 5-7 PM at Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, MO, at 3 PM on Friday, July 28, under the direction of Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, MO. There will be a visitation from 1-2:30 prior to the service on Friday at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home. Don was born on January 19, 1943, in Springfield, MO to John and Helen Massey. Curious by nature, Don liked to figure things out, solve how things work, and fix things. He was excellent at solving puzzles and a Sudoku master. He loved woodworking and genealogy and travel. He was an avid baseball fan with his heart belonging to the St Louis Cardinals. Don’s spirit was kind, patient and mild mannered. Though missed on Earth, it will surely be a lovely addition into heaven. Don was a fighter. He would urge us all to do our best, follow our hearts and enjoy life. Mr. Massey was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife; Darlene Massey. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 27 years, Karen Massey; his children, Shannon Douglas and husband John. Michelle Massey and Rich Baker, Andrew Massey and Shelley Griffith, Mark Rowe and wife Shellie, and Vicki Starr; 9 grandchildren; and 1 great granddaughter. To the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure. – JK Rowling A memorial guestbook may be signed online at www.raderfh.com.
