    Cynthia Lynn Praznik

    November 16, 1952 - May 16, 2021

Cynthia Lynn “Cindy” Praznik, 68, of Kilgore, TX, died peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on May 16, 2021, in Longview, TX. Cindy was born on November 16, 1952, to Edward E. Redpath and Lois M. Redpath, in Duncan, OK. When Cindy gave birth to her only son, Roger Clay Kitchens, in 1976, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Cindy excelled at encouraging Clay and supporting him through the many passions and seasons of his life, and especially enjoyed being a grandmother to Cole and Ryan. Whether cheering her grandkids on in sports or watching them in band, she made it her mission to encourage them every step along the way. She was very vocal about her faith and relationship with Jesus Christ. Her life’s goal was to reflect Christ in all she did. Cindy returned to college later in life to study Business Administration at LeTourneau University and graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in 2000. She was a dedicated employee for the Texas Department of Health and Human Services for over 25 years. Following retirement in 2018, Cindy enjoyed peaceful walks at the Longview Arboretum, and traveling to visit friends and family. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Patrick “Pat” and Linda Redpath, of Oklahoma City, OK; her sister, Melinda “Linda” Redpath, of Mesquite, TX; her son and daughter-in-law, Clay and Melissa Kitchens, her grandchildren, Cole Kitchens, and Ryan Kitchens, of Longview, TX; nephew and wife, Mike and Cheri Redpath of Goldsby, OK; nephew and wife, Jeff and Tanae Redpath, of Edmond, OK; cousins and good friends also survive her. Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Edward E. Redpath, and her mother, Lois M. Redpath. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Longview Arboretum since Cindy enjoyed her regular walks of peace there in the gardens.
