    Corene Virginia Clark

    July 11, 1925 - June 28, 2010

Services for Corene Virginia Clark, 84, of Henderson will be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday, June 30, at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Tisdale and Rev. Robert Hall Officiating. Internment will follow at Rusk County Memorial Gardens under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson. Corene passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior June 28, 2010. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the celebration service Wednesday. Born July 11, 1925 to Wilmer and Hassie Wesson, Corene graduated from Gaston School in 1942. She always looked forward to renewing old acquaintances at the Red Devil Reunions until her health failed. Corene enjoyed working with people as she spent fifty years working in the Rusk County Court House. After attending Henderson Business College, she worked for the Extension Service for many years and spent the last 12 years serving as Justice of the Peace, Pct. 1. Corene prided herself on making herself available to those who needed her and she was always there to offer advice, encouragement or a listening ear for someone who needed to talk. Many folks remember her for her fairness and integrity. She performed many marriage ceremonies often marrying couples in her own home if the couple needed a place for the ceremony. Gardening, traveling and attending antique auctions were her favorite pastimes after retirement. She often spoke of the beauty of the fall foliage in the New England states and never tired of visiting there. Her last memorable trip was to Alaska and she was often heard encouraging others to partake of its beauty. Corene was a member of the First Baptist Church of Henderson. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Russell S. Clark and grandson, John Russell Blanton. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Bill Blanton of Henderson, brother, Harold Wesson and wife, Lois, of Henderson, two great-grandsons, Jonathon Copeland of Conroe and Nicholas Locklear Blanton of Overton, and two nieces, Bettie Grimes of Frisco and Becky Paugh of Mesquite. Pallbearers will be Tony Cavaliere, Kent Buckner, Mike Nichols, Laborn Conway, Harold Howell, and Rusty Phenix. If desired, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Henderson, 207 West Main, Henderson, TX 75654, Angel Care Hospice, 209 Hwy 79N, Henderson, TX 75652 or to the charity of your choice.
