    Christopher Scott Harper

    January 21, 1970 - November 24, 2018

    Christopher Scott Harper, age 48, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 24, 2018. He was born January 21, 1970, in Longview to Bill and Donna Harper of Hideaway Lake. He graduated from Longview High School and attended University of North Texas. Chris was the apple of the eyes of his late grandparents, Bill and Floy Harper and Doc and Beth Brinker. He and the love of his life Jennifer have two daughters, Colby Harper Pierce and Hannah Harper. He helped manage with his dad the family business, A-1 Party and Equipment Rentals. His family knew him only as a kind, selfless man that cared endlessly for his family and friends. In addition to his wife, daughters, and parents, he is survived by his brother and wife, Casey and Alycia Harper of Dallas; son- in-law Blake Pierce of Diana; father-in-law and mother- in- law Bruce and Susan Prater; brother-in -law and sister- in-law, David and Michele Etchelecu, all of Longview; nieces Madeleine Etchelecu, Lanie Harper, Madison Harper, and nephew Ethan Etchelecu; aunt and uncle, Don and Brickey Brinker of Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be held at Rader Funeral Home of Longview on Tuesday, November 27th from 6 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Chris’s Life will be held Wednesday, November 28th at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Pierce officiating. A private burial will follow at White Cemetery. Chris will be remembered and dearly missed as a father, son, husband, brother, uncle and friend. In lieu of flowers, Chris can best be remembered by a donation to The Longview Animal Care & Adoption Center. In addition, a benefit account has been established in honor of Chris's granddaughter "Harper" at Texas Bank & Trust. To make a contribution, please call 903-237-5566.
