    Christopher Earl Black

    December 27, 1979 - February 7, 2022

Christopher Earl Black, 42, of Longview passed from this life into eternal life on February 7, 2022. He died peacefully in his sleep, just the way he wanted to go. Chris “Bubba” was born on December 27, 1979 to Roger E. Black and Marilyn K Black in Longview, TX. Chris had many health problems in his 42 years here on earth, but always had a positive attitude and uplifting and encouraging words towards someone else. He became a diabetic at age 16 and from that resulted in being on dialysis for 5 years. In 2018 he received a kidney transplant at Baylor in Dallas. He developed covid and as a result died of heart failure. Chris was a loving son and brother. He was always thinking of his Dad and Mom and didn’t want to burden anyone. He could always give the perfect gift or the most beautiful card that said just the right thing. He loved his God more than anything and could quote scriptures word for word. He loved his pastor and would call and tell him things he had dreamed about. Chris loved installing stereos and worked at Charlies Trading Post for 8 years dealing with car stereos. All his customers knew him as Bubba or the little man. He also worked for Tuff Shed as a Forman on the building installation. Later he worked for R&H Machine Shop until he became disabled in 2012. Chris will be missed by all his friends, family, cousins, nieces and nephews and he was looking forward to becoming a Uncle and said he was going to spoil them rotten and send them home to his sister. Our hearts are hurting but we know that he is no longer suffering and is in his Heavenly Home where he longed to go. Chris was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Ephrem Black and Frances Berry Black; and his maternal grandparents Emory Howard Grant and Frances Corine Wallace Grant. Chris is survived by his parents, Roger E. Black and Marilyn Grant Black; his sister, Amanda K. Scott and husband Russell Scott and baby Scott due in August. He also loved his beloved Aunt Bebe, Billie Stroud and a host of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins! The family would like to send a special thanks to Calvary Tabernacle, Divita Dialasis Center, and Baylor Hospital - Dallas for all their care, prayers, and cards sent during his illness. A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022 in the Rosewood Park Mausoleum at 3:00 PM. A time of fellowship and visitation will be held the hour preceding the service from 2:00-3:00 PM. Chris will be laid to rest at Rosewood Park.
