    Barron Lamar Pittman

    May 12, 1946 - April 16, 2021

    Barron Lamar Pittman, 74, finished his earthly race on April 16, 2021 at his residence in Longview, Texas, and entered his eternal home in the presence of his Savior. Lamar was born on May 12, 1946 to Rev. Wm. Barron and Voncile V. Pittman in Crestview, FL. He served his country proudly as a member of the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Presidential Unit Citation. He is a retired Assembly of God Minister, having served churches in Vidor, West Orange, Palestine, Hallsville, and White Oak, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Wm. Barron and Voncile Pittman, brother, Rayburn Pittman, great-niece, Selina Perry, great-nephews Christopher Wilson and Marcus Whiddon; and brother-in-law, Edward Whiddon. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Donna Elaine Pittman; daughter, Donna Owings and husband Don, of Longview, TX; his beloved granddaughters, Kayla Owings and Kelli Owings, of Longview, TX; sister, Carylon Whiddon of Holt, FL; brother, Rev. Alton Pittman and wife, Glenda Pittman of Kirbyville, TX; niece, Joann Perry of Holt, FL; nephew, Dale Whiddon and wife Carol of Vernon, FL; nephew, James Whiddon and wife Rhonda of Holt, FL; niece, Tammy McBrayer of Brewton, AL; nephew, Michael Pittman and wife Jennifer of Humble, TX; niece, Michele Tremblay and husband Ron of Corpus Christi, TX; uncle, Bobby Baker and wife Alberta of Pensacola, FL; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and several cousins. Visitation will be at 11 am on Monday, April 19, at Rader Funeral Home of Longview, TX, with services to follow at 12 noon in the chapel. The committal service will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 20, at the Northwest Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery in Keithville, La. A memorial guestbook may be signed online at www.raderfh.com.
