Allen Russell Hilton

December 7, 1942 - September 27, 2021

Allen “Joe” Russell Hilton was born December 7, 1942 in Daingerfield, TX to James and Sarah Hilton. He went to be with the Lord on September 27, 2021 in Gilmer, Texas at the age of 78. Allen is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Harold Wayne, Burl William, and James Albert and also his special nephew, Richard “Dick.” He is survived by his wife, Margaret Hilton; two daughters, Glenda Rutledge, Lisa Selman and husband Guy; and four grandchildren, Ryan Rutledge, Jesse Rutledge, Katie Barnes and husband Zane, and Kyle Hood and wife Cassie. He is also survived by three precious great grandchildren; Hayden, Hudson, and Haddie. Allen was a loving husband, father and grandfather and found his true happiness in being surrounded by those he loved. He was a talented welder and loved America something fierce. He truly had a giving spirit and will be greatly missed. A graveside service to celebrate Mr. Hilton’s life will be held October 1, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Rosewood Park under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Tommy Brasher will be officiating. A celebration of life will be held at East Mountain Baptist Church immediately following the graveside service. A memorial guestbook may be signed online at www.raderfh.com.
