Stephen Rocco Borsa Services for Stephen Rocco Borsa, 48, of Kilgore will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Kilgore with the Reverend Brian Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, July 5, 2005 from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home, 1617 Judson Road, Longview, TX. Steve was born November 9, 1956 in the township of Redford in Michgan. He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Borsa of Kilgore; and his daughter, Lori Young of Bentley, LA. He is also survived by his father, Rocco Borsa, brothers and sisters Carol Ramaswamy, Laura Borsa, David Borsa and Phillip Borsa all of Michigan. Working in the sporting goods industry for more than 30 years, he was employed by Mainstream Marketing. Steve specialized in the hunting industry that he loved so dearly. Steve was active in numerous associations including the Single Action Shooting Association, The National Rifle Association, and numerous shooting events. Growing up in Michigan, Steve became an avid outdoorsman. His uncle Tanny spent summers teaching the art of hunting, fishing, and trapping. The remainder of his days, were filled with baseball, hockey, and fast cars. The famous yellow corvette could be seen streaking through town as he searched for his next adventure. Steve began his career in retailing, working his way up the ladder. From cleaning floors to manager, Steve showed his ability and drive for the business at a very young age. Dewayne Ahern of Ahern Sales saw the true promise of a salesman in the making. The states of Arkansas and Louisiana were swept away with his ability to ?do what you say you?re gonna do.? His knowledge and follow-through were unparalleled. Steve and Mary Beth were married in 1995 in Las Vegas during the annual ?Shot? show. Steve rationalized that everyone in the industry would already be there, so ?why not?? His customers and factories became his best friends. The industry combines his livelihood, his passion, and his best friends. Hunting was Steve?s true passion in life. From Alaska to Wyoming and every camp in between, Steve experienced the thrill of the hunt. Stories will be told and re-experienced through deer camps across America. His enthusiasm and zest for life were felt by everyone. Although hunting was his passion, his most prized memories were in helping others to experience the thrill of the hunt. When trips were planned, Steve could be heard to say the ?food?s on me.? From shopping to preparing, the trip was not complete without a well thought out meal from the ?Borsa Kitchen.? ?Uncle Steve? was a term near and dear to his heart. His ability to encourage and his patience with young children were a true gift. He taught his niece how to use a bait casting reel without back-lashing and would smile at her accomplishment. Those opportunities presented themselves over and over again throughout the years. Steve will live in our hearts forever, with that great big wonderful smile.
