Ann Wallis

Ann Wallis Ann Wallis, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 7, 2017. She was born March 4, 1929, in Idabel, OK to Floyd and Ruby Owens. She was married to Thurman Wallis for 51 years and he preceded her in death. Known as “Nan” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. Ann and Thurman moved to Longview in 1965, from Idabel. She was formerly employed as a Medical Transcriptionist at Good Shepherd Medical Center and then employed with Medical and Pathological Lab, retiring in 2002 after 25 years of service. She and her husband resided on Lake Cherokee for 50 years. She was an avid collector of dolls and also enjoyed collecting Fenton Crystal and other fine collectables. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017 in the Rosewood Park Mausoleum Chapel with Wayne Norvell, Chaplain of Traditions Health Care of Longview. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Shirley Boyd; brother, Jesse Owens; and son-in-law, Darrell Thompson. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Linda Morrow and husband Eddie, Joyce Thompson, and Vicki Thompson and husband James; her sister, Donna Garrett; brothers, Lawrence Owens and Jerry Owens; brother-in-law, Jimmy Wallis; grandchildren, Todd Harrington, Jackie McFadden, Dave Boyd and wife Cheri, Jim Morrow and wife Tracie, Brian Morrow and wife Kristin; and Christi Burks; great grandchildren, J. T. Harrington, Chad Harrington, Brandon McFadden, Brent McFadden, Christian Boyd, Jessica Boyd, Alexandra Boyd, Blake Morrow, Colton Morrow and Brilee Morrow; great great grandchildren, Levi Harrington, Layton Boyd, Penelope Zimmerman and Aubrey McFadden; and numerous nieces and nephews. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Ann was under the care of Traditions Health Care of Longview, and the family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Sherry, Stephanie, Brenda and Jennifer for their loving and compassionate care of their mother.
