Scott E Johnson
I grew up in BSA troop 261 in Longview. Our scout cabin was in Teague Park just down the hill from Troop 201's. We were a smaller troop, led by Jim Sturrock as scoutmaster. We were very competitive between our two Scout troops. V.G.'s troop was always top notch and we always felt like a winner if we could beat Troop 201 in even a few camporee events. That said, we all knew each other's troop members from school and band. Being in the "other" Scout troop, we all respected and appreciated "V.G." 's leadership. I went to the 1969 National Jamboree in Idaho where he was one if the leaders. Still remember that great Aggie!
