Just now learned of Mr. Hamptons passing. I have often thougt of him throughout the years. Although we were not personally friends, I sure did admire and respect him! He was a
a great inspiration to me, a true example of how a businessman should conduct himself! I had the good fortune and pleasure of building and installing his signs at his Gun Barrel City Papacitas location in 1989. He was a good man, and and l know that his presence will be missed by all of those who's lives he touched! He always had time to talk, and a smile to go with it!
Robert was a dear friend back in the early 80’s. He was always kind and thoughtful and had a smile. We kept in touch over the years and shared things about our families. I send my deepest condolences to his family, I know he will be missed, and a great loss to our community. God received a wonderful man at his passing.

My family and I will always remember Robert Hampton. He was so personable and thoughtful. Before the present location was open, Kristi and I were looking in the window wondering what this building was going to be. He happened to be there and invited us in. He gave us a tour. Kristi and I used to serve banquets...before the elevator was put in. When the elevator was put in years later, he insisted that we be the first to ride it up! He assisted Kristi with a mission trip to Germany years ago. He was such a giving person. Papacita's is our second home! We feel like we are visiting family when we go there (and that is often)! Thank you Marilyn for all you do. Thank you Kim, Danny, Dean, Joel, Manual, Marshall and all of you. We love you.

I moved from Dallas 20 plus years ago and met with Robert about painting murals in his restaurant. It was there that I recognized what a nice man he was. The murals were my first to paint in the east Texas area and more followed. I was so grateful for all he did for me and I will remember his kindness. Prayers. Linda Wiggins

My memories of Robert were how nice he always was when he hosted our GLUW breakfasts at Papacita’s. Such a wonderful gentleman who was so kind and welcoming, when dining with at your restaurant.

Marilyn, Whitney, and Meredith - Robert was the kindest man! When Gaye Webster and I moved our Lollipops and Lace business to his shopping center, we had the opportunity to visit with Robert on many occasions. He told us about his vision for the restaurant, where some of the furnishings were from, etc. He was always delightful, and I knew him as a smiling, fun person, but with a keen business mind. I remember that he was concerned that Papacita's always received the perfect score on that restaurant report!! I know he was loved and respected by many. Longview lost a true supporter, leader and visionary!

Robert was my mothers first cousin, and although I haven't seen him for several years, I remember him as a kind and gentle man. So sorry for the family's loss.

We would go eat at Papacita's from time to time from the 80's on and when Robert was there we would catch up on how his side of the family was doing and he would get caught up on our side since we are cousins and sometimes he would even let us have our meals on his dime even though we would go back and forth about we should pay he wouldn't hear of it
