We love to hear the wonderful stories that Dr. Dowd (our one-of-a-kind Papa) has told us about the wonderful and loving memories of his boyhood days with his Aunt Sue and Uncle Earl. They would drive from little town of Hawkins, Tx to the big city of Houston in the early 60's and what exciting times those were for him. His Aunt Sue and Uncle Earl would take them to the mall (which was the first time he'd ever seen or been in an indoor mall) and take them to wonderful places to eat and to have all kinds of exciting things to see and do. He always loved visiting with them and they had a big impact on his life. He said she was a quiet and peaceful lady, a wonderful elementary school teacher, a devoted wife and a loving sister and aunt and will be dearly missed. Our condolences and prayers to our Papa, Loyd Dowd, his wife Tanya (our Mom) and especially to Nina Sue's sisters, Bonnie Dickard Cain and Dr. Frances Dowd. May God continue to bless our Papa with a kind heart, a good mind, healing hands, lots of joy to go around and for the good genes that he inherited from the Dickard side of the family.
Genevieve & Christopher Nelson and granddaughter Faith who wants to send him this heart because she loves him as much as from here to the moon (she says).
