although i never met my great grand uncle my grandmother(his sister's daughter) only ever had wonderful thing to say about him and his wife Elizabeth. she told me stories of their travels and the college he founded and i know he will be missed dearly although this is very late he died the year i was born and my grandma was just telling me about him and he seemed like a very enjoyable man.

I met Mr. & Mrs. Whatley when they purchased "Cherokee" in Natchez and I wrote their insurance. The thing I remember most about Mr. Whatley was his kindness. It was always a pleasure to talk with him. Mrs. Whatley, my prayers are with you and your family.##imported-begin##Kim Thomas##imported-end##
