Shirley & Family. Dr. Emerson charged his friends to share our stories about Jimmy "Cheese & Crackers" as I first knew him way back in the mid-40's. He and his family were back door neighbors - we lived on Hughes, they lived on S. Green. My brother was older than Jimmy; I was younger. Not sure if he was involved in the sinking of a bath tub in the pond where Green St. Sr. Center (formerly "The Round Up Club for LHS) is now. But my brother Bobby and several other boys in the neighborhood thought they would row across the pond. No such luck! Then there was a time when "the boys" decided to remove some of the spikes from The Nicholson Mansion fence and have a spear fight. Not sure Jimmy was involved in all of that, but more likely was. I do know this for a fact, Jimmy gave me my first puppy, Chow Chow, and when we moved from Hughes to a farm between Longview & Hallsville, the puppy went with us. When Bill and I got married, I was lucky enough to meet Jimmy again as one of Bill's friends. Bill and I had lots of fun in our younger life with you and Jimmy, Byron and Elizabeth. We were fortunate enough to be around when you started having your family. I remember how cute you always dressed the girls. Lots of good memories. Think about the happy times when the days get hard. Love to you and your sweet family. Betty Heim
