We met with Scott only three times, but those few times that we met with him, he made a very lasting impression on our family. Our son was under his care while recovering from sports injuries. We are so saddened to hear of Scott's death. He was such an important part of Morgan's football career at Tatum. He was so encouraging but always used caution when dealing with any injuries from knee, shoulder or concussions. In the Gilmer game, Morgan wanted to continue to play so bad so Scott told him he could go back in the game if he could stand alone, well he couldn't as Scott already knew!!! but no one "pulled" him from the game. Scott continued to ask about Morgan after he went off to college and always gave an encouraging word. Scott was a great man. I first met him when he was contracting to my high school. As an athlete, I picked his brain about information on athletic training. A few years later I ran into him again at ETATA where I was a part of the TJC Athletic Training. Since then, I have been able to know him as a mentor, a colleague, and a friend. He was always full of life and always willing to help you out no matter what. I know that he touched so many people's lives and he will be greatly missed. We are all filled with sorrow with the loss of Scott. He was a joy to work with and be around. He will be greatly missed here at the hospital. I cannot express enough how much Scott meant to me. He was so conscientious in work and life, dedicated to the care of others, whether young athletes or in helping us in Physical Therapy with our older patients. He was patient and kind, compassionate during times of pain in my life. He understood and appreciated the value of hard work. Scott and I always turned the same age in January every year.
