Gilbert and I became friends in the early to mid eighties. I was in my early thirties and having difficulties with my then 3 year old business. He was also having difficulties as were many business people in Texas at that time. He mentored me to hang in there and not give up as I was young and had time to recover from this. I'm happy to say that this is now my 32nd year in business and all is well and I feel his words to me really helped me through many difficult years I had to endure to turn this thing around..God Bless You Gilbert.

Your dad was one of my very favorite people and my heart goes out to you as I know he will be greatly missed. He was such a brilliant man. So interesting to visit with. And I was so impressed over his tender loving care that he gave your mother. Certainly above and beyond the call of duty. P.S Forgot to say that I will always appreciate how graious he was to me when Billy Patterson died. He came immediately to add bolts on all the doors and floodlights in the yard. Many other thoughtful acts. He was truly a special friend.
